Thuraya offers satellite-based telephony through a dynamic mobile phone that combines satellite, GSM & GPS. Each handset offers, voice, data, facsimile, messaging and location determination (GPS). Thuraya’s distinct advantage of integration of satellite, GSM and GPS in Thuraya’s handsets allows the end user the flexibility to use GSM networks or satellite beyond those networks. Flexible dual-mode technology allows you to automatically switch on to Thuraya satellite mode in areas that are outside the GSM terrestrial system. Thuraya operates three telecommunications satellites built by Boeing.
